Susan Minato

Susan is the Co-President of UNITE HERE Local 11. As a 4th-generation Japanese American, she carries a deeply personal connection to the fight for justice. Her parents and grandparents were among those unjustly incarcerated in internment camps during World War II, an experience that forever shaped her commitment to social change. Despite their resilience, Susan’s family lost everything due to the racism they faced. This history of injustice and her family’s quiet strength have driven her lifelong mission to stand against racism and inequity, ensuring no one endures such suffering again.
