Marianne Giordano

Marianne Giordano | Executive Director/Chief Financial Officer, OPEIU Local 30 | OPEIU Vice President, District V

Marianne Giordano provides strategic, financial, and operational leadership in support of the union’s mission and longterm sustainability. A member of Local 30’s Executive Board since 1999, Marianne has played a key role in strengthening the union’s governance, fiscal oversight, and organizational effectiveness. Her leadership has helped position Local 30 as a strong, effective nonprofit union organization capable of representing members in an evolving labor and healthcare landscape. She also serves as an OPEIU Vice President for Region V, contributing to the leadership and direction of the International Union. 

Marianne previously worked for Kaiser Permanente San Diego, beginning in 1989, where she served as an Echo Technologist in the Internal Medicine Cardiology Department. Grounded in extensive frontline healthcare experience, she brings a deep commitment to workforce advocacy, member representation, and highquality patient care to her labor leadership. 

Building on this experience, Marianne plays a leadership role within the Coalition of Kaiser Permanente Unions through her service on regional and national Labor Management Partnership councils. 

Since 2000, Marianne has been actively engaged in Kaiser Permanente’s National Bargaining process through the Coalition of Kaiser Permanente Unions, contributing to negotiations and supporting the implementation of National Agreement deliverables. She has also participated in Kaiser Permanente’s Performance Sharing Program, working collaboratively to align strategic goals with worker engagement and shared success. 

In addition to her work in California, Marianne has negotiated collective bargaining agreements in Arizona, Colorado, Los Angeles and San Diego on behalf of OPEIU Local 30 bargaining units, representing members employed in clerical and administrative classifications, trade union and nonprofit offices, transitrelated operations, and other organized workplaces. Her bargaining work focuses on advancing wages, benefits, job security, and equitable working conditions across diverse sectors and regions. 

Marianne serves on the Arizona AFLCIO Executive Board, the San Diego & Imperial Counties Labor Council Executive Board, and as an International Vice President for OPEIU Region V. She is also a member of the Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW), reflecting her longstanding commitment to labor leadership, equity, inclusion, and solidarity across the labor movement.
