Union members have turned out this election cycle to elect pro-worker candidates

ARIZONA – The polls have officially closed, but the work of counting every vote continues. Many races may not be finalized by tonight, and we will patiently await the results. We remain confident in our democratic process as every vote is counted.

Like many Arizonans, we’re on the edge of our seats. This election matters because families are feeling the pressure. We are working hard, working more, paying more, and struggling to keep up with the rising costs. Over the last two years, working people have struggled with the rising costs of food, rent, health care, and utility bills. Since January 2025, Arizona’s families have spent $412 more for groceries, paid $98 more a month for gasoline, and, on Election Day, paid the highest-ever gas prices.

That’s why Arizona labor has been working tirelessly through our Labor 2026 member-to-member campaign. Over the course of this election, union members have been pivotal – and contacting over 90,000 households across the state to elect pro-worker candidates who will stand up for us, not billionaires and CEOs.

“Working people deserve to have enough to pay our bills, buy groceries and gas, afford to see a doctor and take our family out to dinner or a movie once in a while. The union vote will be pivotal in scores of congressional, gubernatorial and state races,” said Fred Yamashita, Executive Director and Executive Director of the Arizona AFL-CIO. “Trust in unions exceeds trust in both political parties. And we know that union members have turned out like never before this Election Day.”
